About this programme

The Bachelor's Programme “Bauingenieurwesen” (hereafter: Civil Engineering) provides you with a solid education in all areas of civil engineering. You will learn how to design, plan, and construct while preserving our environment. You will assess and calculate the feasibility of designs and plans created by architects and collaborate with them and many other specialists. Together, you will create various structures such as buildings, bridges, tunnels, roads, dams, wastewater treatment plants, landfills, power plants, and infrastructure for drinking water and wastewater management. A special focus is placed on the use of appropriate construction materials, sustainability, environmental and noise protection, energy efficiency, and circular economy principles. There is no selection procedure for the Bachelor's degree programme in Civil Engineering. Instead, before being admitted, you must engage with the contents of the programme as part of the so-called Study Preparation and Reflection Phase (Programme-PRe-Phase).
