Communication is much more than just language. In the Speech and Language Ther apy Bachelor’s program at CU Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, you’ll learn to provide professional support to people with language, speech, voice, and swallowing disorders, as well as hearing impairments – from diagnosis through therapy to rehabilitation. You’ll help people improve their communication skills and enhance their ability to participate in daily life. To do this, you’ll combine medical, therapeutic, and scientific knowledge with hands-on training and develop the professional, methodological, and personal skills needed for a career as a speech-language therapist. At the SkillsLab – the only one of its kind in Austria – you’ll practice diagnostic and therapeutic methods using state-of-the-art technology. This allows you to gain practical experience in a safe learning environment before applying your knowledge in your daily professional practice. Starting as early as the second semester of the Speech and Language Therapy Bachelor’s Program you’ll gain valuable experience in various fields of speech-language therapy through professional internships. This allows you to gradually apply your theoretical knowledge in practice. As a speech-language therapist, you work with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. In the Speech and Language Therapy Bachelor’s Program, you’ll learn to identify various types of speech and language disorders and treat them on an individual basis.
