About this programme

The Master’s program in Artificial Intelligence (AI) puts you at the forefront of one of the most transformative fields of our time. You work on cutting-edge AI ranging from machine learning and foundation models to intelligent systems within a strong research environment closely connected to industry. Learn how to build the AI technologies that will shape the future. In the Master’s in Artificial Intelligence at the JKU Linz, you will learn how intelligent systems are actually designed and created. You will explore the mathematical and computational foundations of AI, develop advanced skills in machine learning and deep learning, and work on challenging problems in areas such as perception, language, robotics, and autonomous systems. You will have opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research and real-world projects. You will understand generative AI systems such as ChatGPT that enable fluent natural-language interaction, code and math assistants for helping developers to write and to debug software, and image and video generators that create realistic media from text prompts. Deep learning also powers speech recognition and translation, autonomous driving based on environmental sensor data, medical image analysis, recommendation systems, and robotics. You will learn to mathematically derive, design, program, train, adapt, and adjust complex AI systems and deploy it on specialized hardware. You will learn the answers to important questions about safety, accountability, bias, and societal impact.
