About this programme
The private building sector is currently responsible for about 29% of the final energy demand in Austria, 43% of this energy comes from fossil fuels. In order to drive the expansion of local and district heating and achieve the goal of a climate-neutral Austria by 2040, it is necessary to construct energy-flexible and at the same time energy-saving buildings. And to meet the demand for skilled workers, a denser supply is needed. The Master’s Program Climate-Responsive Building Technologies was launched in the winter semester 2024/25 in response to the high demand for highly qualified academics in this sector. The course is offered in a work/study program . This means that a significant part of the course is covered by simultaneous work in a partner company (work experience phases). Studies at the UAS Technikum Wien and practical work placements run parallel to each other in order to establish the best possible practical relevance to theory. „ Climate-conscious building technology will be an essential key to the success of the upcoming energy transition. Students deepen their knowledge in a field with excellent career prospects. “ With their knowledge, graduates are perfectly trained for the sectors of energy production, energy management construction/building technology, heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology, for energy agencies, environmental technology, or urban planning and urban energy concepts. For example, you will work as a technical/scientific employee, supply engineer; system developer; energy engineer; developer; project manager; BIM manager, c
