About this programme

Here, you’ll learn how healthy ecosystems store CO₂, and how transitioning our energy supply to renewable sources and electric mobility contributes to sustainable development. You’ll be able to describe and evaluate the current situation using meaningful data. You’ll make necessary changes transparent through visual representations on maps or in presentations. This enables informed decisions to be made in order to implement effective measures for the green transition. This degree program is a good fit for you if you want to combine sustainability with technology and data. An interest in the natural sciences, analytical thinking, and teamwork are particularly important. The full-time program follows a fixed semester schedule. On-campus and off-campus learning activities are combined with individual and group-based activities designed to promote self-directed learning. After completing your bachelor’s degree, you’ll work at the intersection of sustainability, the environment, technology, and data–for example, in business, research, consulting, or the public sector. In the Green Transition Engineering program, you’ll gain skills you can put to use right away. Theory is always brought to life with examples and exercises—and in numerous projects, you’ll work as part of a team to directly apply what you’ve learned. Your classroom? Mostly the Villach campus, but also the great outdoors: field trips and outdoor exercises are an integral part of the program. Special highlights include the Orientation and Outdoor Project right at the start of your studies and the multi-day field
