The following reflects the planned progression for full-time offerings of the program. Northern College’s Business Human Resources diploma prepares you for practical HR work in areas such as recruitment and selection, employee relations, compensation, training and development, workplace health and safety, human resources planning, and labour relations. In your first year, you will build a strong foundation in business. In your second year, you will focus on core areas of human resources, including recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation and benefits, labour relations, occupational health and safety, and human resources planning. The program includes the nine courses required to meet the coursework requirement for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation through the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA). Students who meet HRPA’s minimum grade requirements can satisfy the coursework portion of the CHRP pathway through the program.
