About this programme

The BN After Degree is a 24-month continuous program starting in September of each year and is a collaborative program offered by the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge Polytechnic. New applicants apply directly to the University of Lethbridge. Newly admitted students will register in and attend courses at Lethbridge Polytechnic for the first two semesters of the program. For the remaining semesters of the program, students will register in and attend courses at the University of Lethbridge. The Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Lethbridge strives to prepare excellent Nursing graduates by fostering the development of innovative clinical decision making, diagnostic reasoning, interpersonal skills, leadership behaviours, and technical knowledge and skills. Students who have an approved degree from a recognized university may choose to complete either the Bachelor of Nursing After Degree program, or the 40-course Bachelor of Nursing program. Successful completion of the program earns the student a Bachelor of Nursing (BN) degree. The program provides the essential background to write the Canadian licensure exam to become a Registered Nurse (RN). The BN After Degree program only has a Fall (September) intake. The deadline to apply for admission is January 5 . The Faculty of Health Sciences will consider a limited number of exceptionally qualified applicants with previous health care experience, who meet BNAD admission requirements, but are not competitive on a case-by case basis.
