About this programme

Study in one of the most comprehensive and immersive theatre programs in Canada. You’ll take part in the Phoenix Theatre mainstage season, working both onstage and behind the scenes. You’ll also learn about the historical and modern importance of theatre through studio-based and academic courses. All theatre classes involve hands-on learning. This means regular opportunities for project work and internships in the community. Theatre can make you think, feel, laugh and reflect. It can also help you understand different perspectives and ideas. UVic’s Department of Theatre combines practical training with critical study. Courses are taught by theatre professionals and scholars in one of the most innovative teaching facilities in North America. Every student participates in applied learning.
