About this programme

Develop strong problem-solving skills and learn how to approach complex questions mathematically. UVic’s flexible program lets you explore areas such as pure mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics and data science while shaping a path that fits your interests. Mathematics reveals patterns that help explain the world around us, from climate systems and disease modelling to computing, finance and communications technology. Both the BA and BSc in Mathematics study the same core areas of mathematics, including calculus, algebra, statistics and mathematical reasoning. The main difference is what you study alongside mathematics. Combine mathematics with a second subject to match your interests and goals. You’ll get a broader education and discover exciting new opportunities. Choose your current or most recent high school, college or university to see your admission requirements.
