About this programme
Academic Program Coordinator Currently Vacant Medical Sciences Building Room 443 519.661.2111 ext. 81524 Medical Cell Biology explores the human body at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organ system levels. This field integrates knowledge across these biological scales to deepen our understanding of how structure relates to function throughout the entire organism. Students will examine the gross anatomical features of all human organ systems, exploring how structure and function are interrelated. They will also gain insight into how cells interact to form tissues, maintain homeostasis, and regulate behavior. In addition, the program explores cellular mechanisms underlying both normal physiology and pathological conditions, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and mental health disorders. The program’s comprehensive scope equips students with a strong foundation for a wide range of career opportunities. These include graduate and professional school, positions in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, roles in government agencies, and careers in scientific research and education.
