From residential to commercial applications, you can receive all the training you need to work towards your Red Seal (RSE) in Electrical through Yukon University. The Pre-Apprenticeship course is an 18-week introduction to the electrical trade. The first 10-week block focusses on hands-on learning to give students experience with tools and materials specific to residential/commercial electrical wiring. It also includes the foundational theoretical concepts used in the electrical field. Following the first 10-week block, students will have earned the hours required to attend the 8-week Level 1 Electrical apprenticeship training course. This program offers students the opportunity to develop safe work practices, build confidence, and create new work relationships. Students may also be offered technical credit towards a Yukon apprenticeship and the opportunity to challenge the Electrical Apprenticeship Level I (first year) exam.
