Music (Diploma)

About this programme

Please visit the International application deadline page to find out when applications may be available. The two-year Diploma in Music gives you the skills, knowledge and confidence to launch a professional music career. Strengthen your performance ability through private lessons on your chosen instrument or voice and participation in large ensembles, including concert band, jazz band and chorus. Gain a strong foundation in music theory, aural skills and history. Transform that knowledge into experience with opportunities to perform live at regular open mic events, recitals and large-scale concerts. Plus, Douglas's high ratio of faculty to students allows you plenty of one-on-one instruction. Many faculty members are active performers locally, nationally and internationally, and all are committed to providing you with a supportive student-centred learning experience. Upon graduating, you'll have opportunities to start your career or advance your skills further. Many graduates transfer to university for a music degree to further their performance or composition abilities or for a degree in education to pursue a career in teaching music at the elementary and secondary level.
