About this programme

Your commitment to living a healthy lifestyle is anything but ordinary, so why should your degree be? Mount Royal's Bachelor of Health and Physical Education (BHPE) responds to the growing need for community health and physical activity champions in Western Canada and beyond. The BHPE focuses on creating experienced and well-rounded graduates prepared to become strong health and wellness advocates in the community or pursue further education at a graduate or professional school level. With a fresh approach to health and physical education that is unique to Western Canada, Mount Royal's distinctive four-year program emphasizes a comprehensive approach to health and physical education while providing students with valuable hands-on experiential learning opportunities in and outside the classroom. You will have the opportunity to specialize in one of four majors, with each major offering current outcome-focused approaches that emphasize collaboration and leadership skills needed to champion the movement in your community. Help athletes at any level become champions. The therapy you provide could be the final piece of the puzzle for an athlete to reach the podium — help them reach their top potential of physical activity. Over the course of four years, the Athletic Therapy major provides a comprehensive approach to physical activity, health and wellness. The skills and knowledge you will acquire will provide you with a well-rounded education that will expand your career and/or education options at a graduate or professional level.
