About this programme

You will qualify for a professional teaching certificate from the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Certification Branch, which certifies you to teach in secondary schools. Graduates often teach in other provinces or territories in Canada and in other countries. With many teachers retiring and classroom sizes decreasing, BC has a high demand for trained teachers especially in northern BC and other rural areas. Applicants without prior experience will still be considered; however, those with some background working with children or youth are often better prepared for the expectations of the program and the profession.
