About this programme
Software is critical to most modern technologies, as it lies at the heart of technological function. With this increased reliance on modern, advanced technologies, there is an ever-increasing demand for specialists able to develop software, understand and support computer systems architecture and design, and distributed services– tasks which are done by software engineers. Given the expected and accelerated growth of sectors related to software over the next decades, there is also growing demand for professionals who have these skills. As a result, the new Master of Applied Science in Software Engineering program at Memorial University is timely. Offered jointly by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, the MAScSE provides students with the skills they need to thrive in this exciting field. Graduates of the program will have knowledge and understanding of the core areas and methods of Software Engineering and will be ready to work in positions of software development, computer systems architecture and design, and distributed services. We foresee graduates working in both the private and public sectors locally in Newfoundland and Labrador and across Canada. Note: All figures are in Canadian dollars and subject to change. Fees are approved by the University’s Board of Regents. In the event of a discrepancy between the fees approved by the Board and those published on this website, the fees approved by the Board will prevail. Financial policies are enforced through the Department of Financial and Administrative Services. For the complete
