About this programme
Explore a career in adventure-related fields. This entry-level, eight-month program combines classroom instruction with courses in wilderness travel, canoeing, rock climbing, mountaineering, whitewater kayaking and more. Your certificate credits count towards completion of an Adventure Guide Diploma or degree concentration. Graduates from TRU Adventure Studies work as mountain, sea or river guides, adventure sports instructors, and in other wilderness related leadership occupations. Employment prospects for students and graduates are excellent on a provincial, national, and international level. There are many businesses either owned by TRU Adventure Studies graduates, or by companies that regularly employ graduates from TRU Adventure Studies.
