About this programme

The Microbiology and Immunology graduate program provides you with the foundation to excel in a competitive research environment. Along with gaining a general knowledge of microbiology and immunology, we also have four areas of specialization - bacteriology and microbial pathogenesis, cancer, immunology and inflammation, virology – so you can concentrate your studies in specific areas. You will carry out independent research leading to a significant advance of knowledge in your area of study usually leading to 2-3 lead-author publications in highly respected journals. Close collaborations and joint ventures between Microbiology and Immunology and clinical departments such as Pediatrics , Pathology , Surgery and Medicine as well as the Faculty of Dentistry have enhanced the development of several successful multidisciplinary research teams in areas such as cancer cell biology, vaccinology, transplantation, immunity and inflammation. You'll need to meet the Faculty of Graduate Studies minimum requirements as well as any program-specific admission requirements before you can apply. At Dalhousie, we want our students to focus on their studies, rather than worry about their personal finances. Thesis : Pursue independent and original research guided by a supervisor to develop and defend your thesis. All graduate programs at Dalhousie are collaboratively delivered by a home Faculty and the Faculty of Graduate Studies . While every effort is made to ensure accuracy on this page, in the event of a discrepancy, Dalhousie's Academic Calendars are the official reference.
