About this programme

This program is designed as an apprenticeship program, allowing you to work closely with a faculty member who has agreed to supervise your research. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary research, scholarship, and independent thinking rather than on course work. Experimental Stream : Experimental Psychology is the study of human and animal behaviour and the neural mechanisms controlling this behaviour. Neuroscience Stream : Neuroscience integrates psychology, cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, physiology, anatomy and other branches of the life sciences into a single discipline concerned with the structure and function of the brain. Many graduates, with additional on-the-job training, enter careers in community and social services, human resources, residential care, student services, and forensic services, or continue to a PhD. You'll need to meet the Faculty of Graduate Studies minimum requirements as well as any program-specific admission requirements before you can apply. At Dalhousie, we want our students to focus on their studies, rather than worry about their personal finances. Thesis : Pursue independent and original research guided by a supervisor to develop and defend your thesis. All graduate programs at Dalhousie are collaboratively delivered by a home Faculty and the Faculty of Graduate Studies . While every effort is made to ensure accuracy on this page, in the event of a discrepancy, Dalhousie's Academic Calendars are the official reference.
