About this programme

Comparative Dramaturgy and Performance Research (CDPR) is a two-year, full-time international double-degree Master’s programme. It combines process-oriented dramaturgical work with research. The programme takes place through a partnership network of five European universities: Goethe University Frankfurt, Université Libre de Bruxelles, University Paris Nanterre, Oslo National Academy of the Arts, and University of the Arts Helsinki. It is a double-degree programme tailored for process-oriented students who wish to work in international and multidisciplinary contexts such as collaborative productions, research-oriented artistic projects and institutions that combine artistic activities and research. Graduates obtain degrees from both their home and visiting universities. During the two-year programme, students study two semesters at Uniarts Helsinki, Theatre Academy, and two semesters at a partner university. In this way, students delve into diverse performance and research practices and gain a detailed understanding of different local performing arts scenes. Students will develop the ability to compare and connect different artistic practices, cultural systems, languages and fields of research and act as an active intermediator between them. The programme trains students to become research-oriented artists with the necessary knowledge and skills to analyse issues of their choice through the performing arts. For more information see the web pages of Comparative Dramaturgy and Performance Research.
