About this programme
The Global Health and Crisis Management (GH&CM) Master's degree programme will focus on health care and crisis leadership, management, and development from the perspectives of global health and humanity, socially sustainable development, evidence-based infection prevention and control, crisis preparedness, management and communication. This Master's program will be realised at European Qualification Level 7. The students will develop their competences, gain management and evaluation tools, and create working theories and practices for the good of health care service users, personnel, and crisis victims. According to the Laurea’s pedagogical model Learning by Developing (LbD), it is beneficial that the students will gain the core and the complementary competencies and advance them within the development/research project they will participate in. For the students it is possible to select studies also from other Masters' programs at Laurea or at Laurea’s national and international higher education partner institutes according to the personal study plan of the student fulfilling the curriculum requirements. The graduating students possess abilities to perform evidence-based, ethical, and cross-cultural expertise, leadership and management in global health and crisis contexts. To gain these abilities the students can ”learn by developing” within research and development projects by co-creating public and private, governmental, non-governmental and commercial services, organizations, and contexts. The students can further develop their expertise in infection prevention and control, nutrition and in crisis management. The competences gained in complementary competence studies will be congruent with the European Union guidelines, and global policies and models. The students can realize their learning objectives in global, international, and transnational contexts with Laurea’s strategic international and national partners.
