About this programme

This is a Master's programme in Responsible Economics and Finance (REF). The programme offers students training in modern economics with a special focus on responsibility in economic and financial analyses. REF programme offers a thorough mastering of solutions to real-world economic and financial problems originating from the issues related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and efficient integration of renewable energy and other resources into the economic system, both locally and globally. In addition, the resilience of complex adaptive systems and the challenges of welfare measurement are cutting through themes. Following the general principles of Economics MSc programmes, the learning process in REF programme is based on a cumulative increase of understanding about the economic and financial economic processes. Exercises and writing of term papers are regularly included in lecture series, as well as group work and projects. Reading of scientific international journals is an essential part of the studies.
