About this programme

Students of German Language and Literature will become experts in language and culture, both in a contemporary and historical context. The studies with provide you with proficiency in the German language, both in terms of general language use and language for special purposes (jargon), advanced insights into the German grammar and practice, as well as the morphological and syntactic structures of German. In addition, you will learn about German culture, history and society, and their relation with the language. You will also gain insights into German literature and the concepts, methods and theories used in literary studies, which will enable you to analyse various types of text materials in a systematic manner.
