About this programme
Pedagogical Studies for Teachers are organised in accordance with the Act on University Degrees (794/2004, § 19) and provide a broad-based pedagogical qualification for various teaching professions, regardless of their field of specialisation. There are separate intake quotas for the degree students at the University of Helsinki and for those who have already taken a Master level university degree. The studies are oriented either towards primary and upper secondary education or towards adult education. The studies oriented towards comprehensive and upper-secondary education are conducted in Finnish, Swedish and English. Studies for adult education are conducted in Finnish and Swedish. The extent of the Programme is 60 credits and studies can be completed in one academic year. The Programme does not lead to a Master level university degree but offers professional eligibility in teaching.
