About this programme

Education for Global Futures and Leadership (EdGloLead) is a two-year international master's degree programme offered jointly by the University of Oulu, Finland, and Tallinn University, Estonia. As a student, you benefit from two pioneering traditions in international master’s degree programme in education: the University of Oulu’s long-running Education and Globalisation programme (Edglo) and Tallinn University’s Educational Innovation and Leadership programme (EduInno). Together, they offer decades of expertise and fresh perspectives on educational change. In EdGloLead, you critically explore and reimagine education in a rapidly changing world through educational research, futures thinking and development. Studying across two universities gives you access to broader academic expertise, expanded course offerings, and academic and professional networks across both contexts. You also join a truly global learning community, with cohorts often representing up to 20 nationalities. The programme explores the interconnectedness of local and global educational issues while fostering research- informed innovation. EdGloLead prepares you to develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to engage with complexity and plurality, work across cultural boundaries, and contribute to more equitable and sustainable educational futures. You are a great fit for the programme if you want to re-imagine education with a strong commitment to social justice, decolonial thinking and ethical reflection, you are interested in how leadership operates within educational change and transformation, you value collaboration, and you thrive in diverse, research intensive environments.
