About this programme

This is a description for studies that began in 2026. The Technology Law Programme aims to produce legal and tech professionals who not only understand the legal intricacies of technology but are also proactive, ethical, resilient, and equipped to contribute positively to society and organizations in the rapidly evolving tech-driven world. The compulsory studies (30 ECTS) will all be available completely online, provided by Laurea teachers and will be in English. The courses will consist of courses focusing on international technology contract law and negotiation skills, legal issues related to the commercialization of high technology, intellectual property rights and their strategic role in technology companies and other innovative organizations, privacy, cyber resilience, data ownership, and their growing significance as organizational assets within the framework of a fair data economy, legal and ethical considerations in the utilization of artificial intelligence, consumer, and marketing law, especially in digital consumer marketing; and utilization and development of legal tech tools. In addition, resilience skills form an integral part of the programme, along with ethics as well as the broader concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social, and Governance criteria (ESG). The amount of online master level courses in English provided by both Laurea and other universities of applied sciences is continuously increasing. The student can choose his/her elective courses from this common offering and include some international offering in his/her elective studies. The student can also register for elective on campus courses and, language skills permitting, available in Finnish. The student is encouraged to include courses, in elective studies, on how to do research and on how to develop (both relate to methods). The name of qualification and title conferred is Master of Business Administration. Master's degree will deepen and expand your competence and also give you eligibility for roles where a postgraduate degree is required.
