About this programme
Become an expert in science and technology Are you interested in latest technologies? Automation and robotics drive efficiency and safer work across industries, from manufacturing to logistics. The goal is to make tasks easier, healthier and more secure, whether improving the safety of machines, factories, cars and aircraft or ensuring goods move to the right place at the right time. With us, you’ll study a rapidly growing field through a multidisciplinary lens and gain strong skills for exciting career opportunities in Finland and abroad. You will study in an international environment and develop strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. The programme combines a solid theoretical foundation with practical learning through laboratory work, projects, and research-based teaching. This cross-disciplinary degree programme provides you with the ability to follow rapid technological developments by applying scientific methods. Programme for curious problem-solvers Science and Engineering is the ideal programme for you if you're curious about exploring various phenomena and eager to understand the principles behind technological innovations. Experts in Science and Engineering play a key role in e.g. addressing solutions to global challenges like climate change, developing more durable materials, and advancing medical technologies. We offer our students high-quality teaching in relatively small, multicultural study groups where teamwork is strongly supported. In addition to providing a sound theoretical basis for further studies in the field of technology, the programme places special emphasis on employability and integration. With this unique combination, our students are well-prepared for the international world of research and industry. Flexibility and options for further studies The first-year mostly consists common core courses in Science and Engineering that give you a broad understanding of the field. You will start focusing on Automation and Robotics as well as choose a minor module in the second study year. Throughout your studies, you will develop the technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills needed to tackle real-world challenges and create innovative, sustainable solutions. Studying at Tampere University gives you the flexibility to tailor your degree according to your interests. We also offer our second-year students the possibility to do research training in one of our research groups. This is an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience while earning credits towards your degree. Graduates with a Bachelor of Science in Technology degree are eligible to continue their studies directly towards a master's degree at Tampere University without having to re-apply.
