Entry requirements: • Undergraduate degree (EQF/MQF Level 6 – 180 ECTS Credits minimum or equivalent) from an internationally recognized academic institution in a subject relevant to the proposed topic of study. and a • Graduate degree (EQF/MQF Level 7 – 90 ECTS Credits minimum or equivalent) from an internationally recognized academic institution in a subject relevant to the proposed topic of study All students need to sit for an interview to ascertain their suitability for the course. Candidates without a first degree are allowed to submit an application where they state that they do not hold a first degree. Their acceptance for the course may be considered depending on their performance in the initial the interview. Students without a first degree will need to sit for an interview to ascertain their suitability for the course. The Level 7 qualification is a must. Acceptance as a researcher is considered on a case-by-case basis. Candidates with lower qualifications than listed above will be requested to sit for top-up courses prior to course commencement. Minimum English language requirement SMC requires all applicants who are not native speakers of English to meet one of the following requirements: • IELTS (International English Language Testing System): 7.0 (with no score lower than 6.0 in each section) • PTE (Pearson Test of English): 67 (with at least 56 in each of the "Communicative Skills" sections) • CPE (Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English): 185
