18 Entry Requirements Please specify the requirements that students must meet before joining this program. This includes qualifications, language proficiency, digital competences, and/or Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL). Providers who do not have an Recognition of Prior Learning Policy document which has been approved by the MFHEA are to refer to Recognition of Prior Learning - Malta Further & Higher Education Authority (mfhea.mt) Applicants wishing to join the Award in English for Healthcare Workers (MQF Level 3) must meet the following entry requirements: - Be at least 16 years of age - Demonstrate basic proficiency in English, equivalent to MQF Level 2, including the ability to: o Understand simple sentences o Participate in basic spoken interaction This requirement is verified through either: o Presentation of a recognised qualification equivalent to MQF Level 2 in English or; o Completion of an initial diagnostic assessment, which evaluates basic reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, and may include a short oral screening where required. Language Proficiency - Demonstrate basic literacy in their first language - This will be assessed through the written component of the diagnostic assessment, and/or review of any prior educational qualifications/background.
