Entry requirements To apply for the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5), you must be at least 16 years old when the programme begins, or have an approved Early Release Exemption. You’ll also need to meet one of the following: NCEA Level 2, including: 8 literacy credits at Level 2 or above 14 numeracy credits at Level 1 or above An equivalent qualification, or An approved Level 3 or higher qualification with a relevant pathway Special admission If you don’t meet the standard entry requirements but believe you’re prepared for study at this level, you may still apply. Admission will be considered based on your ability to demonstrate that you are likely to succeed in the programme. Decisions are made at the discretion of the relevant academic authority. Language and literacy requirements All applicants need to demonstrate the language and literacy skills required for the programme. This is normally shown through: 8 NCEA literacy credits at Level 2 or above If you can’t provide this evidence, you may be asked to demonstrate your ability through an approved proficiency test or another recognised NZQA equivalent. English language requirements International applicants will need to provide evidence of English language proficiency.
