Language and Literature - Modern Language and Literature Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Letters CLUJ-NAPOCA Program description Russian Language and Literature - English Language and LiteratureThe Russian language and literature program offers students the opportunity to explore the Russian language through the practical courses (conversation, grammar, and translations), the theoretical courses of contemporary Russian (phonetics, lexicology, morphology, syntax) and the Russian literature, culture and civilization courses. Graduates of this program can pursue a career in teaching and research, as well as translation, editing and redaction work.The specialization can be combined with English as a segment B language. The mandatory courses follow the historical evolution of English and American literature (the Medieval and Renaissance English literature, the literature of the Enlightenment, the poetry of the 18th century and Romanticism, the literature of the Victorian Era, the English literature of the 20th century, contemporary English literature, American literature) and developing students’ knowledge of traditional linguistics (phonetics, lexicology, morphology, syntax, language history) and theoretical linguistics (formal semantics, generative grammar).
