Hungarian Language and Literature - Modern Language and Literature Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Letters CLUJ-NAPOCA Program description Hungarian Language and Literature - Chinese Language and LiteratureThe Department of Hungarian Literary Studies and Department of Hungarian and General Linguistics offers multidisciplinary approaches, perspectives and interpretive angles that offer solid foundation for the research and teaching activities of its students. Our goal is to train open-minded and dialogue-centred teachers, learned and well-prepared professionals in media and cultural studies, respectively cultural managers and researchers with a wide intellectual horizon. The Department of Hungarian Literary Studies and the Department of Hungarian and General Linguistics participate in several educational programs, such as the Hungarian Language and Literature Bachelor and Master degree, World and Comparative Literature, Bachelor Degree in Finnish Language and Literature and Hungarian Language and Literary Studies and the Doctoral School of Hungarology. Our institutes offer courses in common disciplines such as history of Hungarian literature, literary theory, comparative literature, aesthetics, literary sociology, general linguistics, normative linguistics, phonetics, morphology, lexicology, syntax, text linguistics, semantics, semiotics or dialectology. The specialization can be combined with Chinese as a segment B language. The primary objective of the Chinese Language and Literature specialization is to develop not only a linguistic competence which would allow the students' fluent use of the Chinese language, but also the constitution of a cultural background which would aid them in their future endeavour of developing their Sinology studies. The courses are being taught both in Romanian and in Chinese.
