About this programme

Transport and Traffic Engineering Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Mechanical Engineering TIMIŞOARA Program description The aim of the Bachelor’s degree program “Transportation and Traffic Engineering” is to form engineers who are capable to understand and to influence the functioning of the transportation systems, of the road traffic and of the urban mobility systems. The ever-increasing mobility need of the population and of the economy, has created tremendous problems for the transportation systems and the urban mobility networks, which are under a continuous stress and have to deal with huge congestions, high level of pollution and with a great number of accidents. The program is connected mainly to terrestrial transportation systems (road and rail) but even other modes of transportation are studied and multi- and inter-modality is taken into account. Our alumni have the basic skills related to transportation engineering and they are able to evaluate, assess, operate, maintain, manage and control transportation systems (mainly road and rail) and urban networks. They learn, among others, about traffic flows theory, vehicle dynamics, public transport, traffic control and management, logistics and freight, network planning and the basics of transport flows modeling.
