Engineering and Informatics in Chemical and Biochemical Processes Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science Bucharest Program description Curricula of the program “Engineering and Informatics in Chemical and Biochemical Processes (EICBP)” is so conceived to assure a general training in chemical engineering; an important place has been reserved to unit operations: transport and mixing of fluids; thermal transfer; separation of homogeneous, or heterogeneous mixtures; chemical or biochemical reactions. Such operations are typical in the so-called process industries (chemical and petrochemical productions, pharmaceutics, food processing or cellulose and paper manufacture. Lectures start from specific physical and chemical features, continue with equations and computation procedures and end with scale-up and the technological design for equipment and installations. Beside these components, other related disciplines (principles in automatics; thermal integration for efficient use of energy; optimization techniques applied for the design and operation of equipment.) are taught.
