Primary and Pre-school Teacher Education Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences ODORHEIU SECUIESC Program description Those candidates, who choose this specialization, acquire the theoretical and practical knowledge required for a preschool or primary school teacher. The theoretical training contains, beside psychological, pedagogical and special education subjects, the preschool and primary school activity and literacy areas: Hungarian and Romanian Language, Mathematics, Sciences, Musical and Art Education, Physical Education, Handcraft. These subjects – which are not only a theoretical foundation, but they are also practice orientated – are supplemented by complementary subjects and the pedagogical practice. Starting with the second semester, during the pedagogical practice, students have the opportunity to assist preschool activities and primary school lessons in different schools from Cluj-Napoca and from rural areas, including also schools working with different pedagogical alternatives (step by step, Waldorf, Montessori). Starting with the second year, students are not only observers of the educational process, but also active participants. Beside the pedagogical practice, students could be involved in different educational activities organized outside schools (playhouse programs, organizing leisure activities for children, etc.)
