About this programme

Polymeric Biomaterials and Bioresources Master programme (Ma/ MSc) ”Cristofor Simionescu” Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection IAŞI Program description Polymeric biomaterials and bioresources is a Master degree program addressing to graduate students (Bachelor degree level) and practicing engineers, willing to learn and specialize into biomaterials and bioresource engineering. Biomaterials is the field of study in which scientists engineer a substance to direct, through the use of living organisms, a therapeutic or diagnostic procedure. Biomaterials has a natural or synthetic origin and are used in medical applicationsto enhance, or replace damaged tissue or a biological function. They can promote promising therapies and improve treatment of debilitating diseases. The students will be specialized, too, in conversion of bioresources fuels and blending components produced from biomass materials called feedstocks. Most biofuels are used as transportation fuels, but they may also be used for heating and electricity generation.Replacing fossil fuels with biofuels has the potential to reduce some undesirable aspects of fossil fuel production and use, including conventional and greenhouse gas pollutant emissions, exhaustible resource depletion, and dependence on unstable foreign suppliers.
