About this programme
Telecommunications Systems and Technologies Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology IAŞI Program description The programme focuses on telecommunication technologies and systems, including both fundamentals and specialized topics related to modern applications. The curricula starts with two-year basic education, including courses such as mathematics, physics, programming, electronic measurement, or circuits & systems. It continues with two-year specialization, related to digital communication systems, digital signal processing, radio communications, antennas, microwave circuits, and optical communications. The study programme aims at offering our students a broad range of technical competences, including the design, testing, operating and maintenance of modern communication equipments, mobile networks, and optical infrastructure. Optimization and traffic management in digital networks, multimedia information processing, modulation, coding, and compression are also considered. Programming skills enable our graduates to implement software solutions for communication applications, including web design and security. Close link with top multinational companies such as Orange, Infineon, Continental, Schaeffler (formerly Vitesco Technologies) and Microchip are resulted in improved access to modern technologies and educational resources. Specialized training in the field of Telecommunications Technologies and Systems offers courses and laboratory and design activities in areas such as:- design, production and use of digital communications circuits and systems on various channels (radio, microwave, optical fiber), in which training is provided through the disciplines of radio communications, microwave, optical fiber communications, data transmission and others;- design and operation of fixed and mobile radiocommunications systems, fields in which subjects such as mobile radiocommunications, antennas and propagation, radio transmission, radio reception and others are taught;- the design, implementation and operation of computer networks is a field in which training is carried out through the disciplines of computer networks, object-oriented design, Internet technologies and others;- the design of electronic circuits, wiring boards, electronic devices and systems are fields of production activity, for which training is provided through disciplines such as electronic technology, electromagnetic compatibility, computer-aided design and others;- design and operation of telephone systems, a field in which the subjects of electronic telephone exchanges and communications systems are taught. In addition to these areas, graduates are also provided with a "broad-spectrum" training that allows them to work in the field of integrated circuit design - especially for telecommunications, the design and operation of programmed logic equipment and measurement and control equipment. This is achieved through disciplines such as digital signal processing, measurements, architecture of microprocessor and microcontroller systems, programmable logic controllers, analog and digital integrated circuits.
