Structural Engineering (double degree with the University of Bergamo, Italy) Master programme (Ma/ MSc) Faculty of Civil Engineering and Building Services IAŞI Program description The mission of Master Program „Structural Engineering” ISE at Technical University „Gheorghe Asachi” of Iasi is excellence in civil engineering education, research and professional service. The goals are: to integrate advanced knowledge; to transfer innovative applications; to be recognized by European & worldwide; to attract students from civil & mechanical engineering, urban and architecture. Our program educates students to assume leadership positions in engineering design, practice, research and higher education. A major area of emphasis is: Modeling, Simulations and FE Analysis of structural classes, buildings, steel, masonry, bridges and foundation, and equipment systems focusing also on challenging multidisciplinary engineering problems. Current related research is addressing improved design methodologies, seismic risk evaluation & management. Research is also addressing dynamic response of structures, progressive collapse, soil-structure interaction, structural health monitoring, problems in computational mechanics, focussing on structural the performance under extreme loads including wind, earthquake, fire and blast.
