Art history and theory Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design CLUJ-NAPOCA Program description The Art History and Theory Study Program gives the students the opportunity to obtain a profound historical and theoretical knowledge of the visual arts field. Mainly anchored in the nowadays society’s realities, the above mentioned study program aims to prepare graduates capable to action as independent and responsible professionals within diverse fields of the contemporary culture, as efficient cultural mediators and as future researchers in the field of art history and theory. Specific competencies: - recognizing the works of art in terms of affiliation to a certain style, period or author, as well as critically analyzing these works - elaboration of theoretical synthesis regarding the visual arts - the capacity to mediate the relation between the works of art and the different categories of the public.Career opportunities: Curator / art critic / cultural journalist / gallery curator / cultural project manager (organizer of exhibitions and cultural activities) / teacher within the field of art education.
