About this programme

Horticulture Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Engineering and Applied Technologies TIMIŞOARA Program description An education combining horticulture and business courses prepares specialists for: horticultural production; food industry units; research, specialized education; expert advisers in horticulture; rural development agencies and offices; in propagation and production of potted crops, trees and shrubs, in organic, sustainable, and conventional fruit and vegetable production. Many graduates obtain professional positions as nursery, managers of a fruit or vegetable farm or garden center managers, or with allied trades such as supply firms, retail floral shops and seed breeding companies, or work with non-profit organizations in the new area of urban and community gardening. Horticulture is an extremely dynamic field, with a great potential due on the one hand to the favourable conditions in the western part of the country for such activities, and on the other hand due to the financing opportunities offered by the state authorities within the National Rural Development Program (PNDR), all graduates of our specializations benefiting from bonus points for obtaining substantial non-reimbursable funds between 40,000-50000 Euros in order to start their own business in the horticulture field.
