About this programme
Translation and Interpreting Bachelor programme (BA/ BSc) Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures Bucharest Program description The undergraduate Translation and Interpretation program offers you the opportunity to study a combination of two modern languages, A and B, chosen from: English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish (excluding combinations of Italian and Spanish). It is important to note that beginner groups are accepted for any of the languages, except for English. The program is based on the idea that translation is a complex and multidisciplinary process within the family of interpretative practices. Therefore, a professional translator must be well-versed in both the techniques of understanding and translating the text.Translation is presented as a complex profession that requires scientific rigor, artistic perception, as well as a pragmatic grounding in reality and philosophical foundation. As a result, the program covers concise and essential perspectives on contemporary criticism and various methods of interpreting discourse, alongside derived or corresponding translation techniques.
