About this programme
No fees are charged for EU and EEA citizens, Swedish residence permit holders and exchange students. The course provides an introduction to scientific research methods with a focus on linguistics. It includes research ethics in relation to linguistic research, and writing skills for research papers. Depending on available time, the course might cover various research methods used in linguistics, such as experimentation, elicitation, corpus search, transcription, annotation, and formal/computational models. Selection is based upon the number of credits from previous university studies, maximum 165 credits. The Faculty of Humanities is located in the Humanisten building at Renströmsgatan 6. The Department of Philosophy, Linguistics and Theory of Science has its premises on the 5th floor. Both the Faculty of Humanities and the adjacent Humanities Library offer several study areas and group rooms. There are also opportunities to study abroad for students on freestanding courses. Within the humanities, you can choose to go on an educational student exchange. The course is mainly taught by means of lectures, seminars, workshops and project work (or equivalent).
