About this programme

The course deals with experimental methods in quantum optics with an emphasis on quantum information applications and an overview of experimental techniques. These include generation and detection of single photons, quantum measurement, quantum noise, quantum correlation, light-atom interactions and experimental demonstrations of quantum cryptography and quantum teleportation. The course consists of both lectures and lab exercises. Laboratory participation is obligatory. Under special circumstances, the examiner can waive participation in certain obligatory lessons after consultation with the responsible instructor. Examination takes place through an oral exam and written laboratory report (the oral exam can be taken only upon submission of a written laboratory report). To follow your passion.
