About this programme

This specialization gives you a deep knowledge of French-language literature. In addition, the studies also offer a broader perspective where the French-language literature is related to literatures of other Romance-languages, such as Italian or Portuguese, in a comparative perspective. In addition to courses on the theory of interpretation and narrative, the programme gives you an in-depth knowledge of French literature from a genre theory- and aesthetics based perspective, the role of French- and Romance-language literatures in a global world, and the emergence of national literatures in Romance languages. Questions about the structure and content of the programme can be answered by the study counsellor in Italian, whom you can contact at studievagledare.franska@su.se . The coordinator for the Master’s Programme in Literature is Axel Englund, axel.englund@littvet.su.se . To follow your passion. To be close to international career opportunities. To explore city and countryside. In Stockholm you can really get the best of both worlds. Here we explain all the different steps you need to go through when applying to a course or programme. Stockholm University arranges regular webinars and participates in educational fairs and events virtually and around the world to meet students and inform them about our study programmes. Every year Stockholm University welcomes thousands of international students from all over the world. Each bringing their own backpack full of experiences, expectations and dreams.
