Cultural Flows and Political Relations in East Asia

This course aims to identify historical, cultural and political constellations and analyze how these are reflected in today's conditions. The emergence of new structures at national as well as regional level is studied and the concept of Asia is problematized from several perspectives. During the course the student will identify and analyze socio-cultural and political processes of change in Asia from a contemporary perspective. The course is examined on the basis of a case study at the end of the course. The subject of the case study is chosen together with the examiner.
