About this programme

This is a core course for students in the Master's Programme in Urban and Regional Planning, 120 HECs. The course is open for students on the third semester of the Master's Programme in Human Geography, 120 HECs, and the Master's Programme in Globalization, Environment and Social Change, 120 HECs. The course deals with key literature discussing, for instance, shifting planning paradigms, the relation of planning and governance, the role and ethos of planners as well as crucial contextual issues such as language, neoliberalisation, power and politics. Detailed information, including grading criteria, is provided at the course introduction and via the learning platform Athena. Upon completion of this course you are expected to be able to describe, reflect on and interpret prevailing planning theories and paradigms and in writing and orally conduct an academic discussion on different questions and perspectives in planning theory. To follow your passion. To be close to international career opportunities. To explore city and countryside. In Stockholm you can really get the best of both worlds. Here we explain all the different steps you need to go through when applying to a course or programme. Stockholm University arranges regular webinars and participates in educational fairs and events virtually and around the world to meet students and inform them about our study programmes. Every year Stockholm University welcomes thousands of international students from all over the world. Each bringing their own backpack full of experiences, expectations and dreams.
