About this programme

The course provides an overview of general developments in Dutch-language children's literature from the 20th century to the present day. In connection with this, a number of works of fiction are read and important authors are discussed. During the course, children's literature texts are analysed based on central aspects of children's literature research. The course is useful for all professions and jobs where advanced knowledge of the Dutch language, Dutch-language literature and the culture of the Dutch-speaking countries, as well as advanced skills in scientific text production are required or a competitive advantage. This course can be taken as an independent course at advanced level but it is also one of the compulsory courses for students that want to obtain a Master’s Degree (60 credits) in Dutch or a Master’s Degree (120 credits) in Dutch.
