About this programme
Understand the connections between society, environment, and space. BA Geography is for curious thinkers who want to tackle real-world challenges, from climate change to global inequality. You’ll study both human and physical geography, learning through topics like sustainability, urban change, environmental justice, and global development. Fieldwork is a key part of the course, with trips in years 1 and 2 and opportunities for independent research and placements in year 3. You’ll learn through varied coursework and project activities including policy briefs, development proposals, and presentations. Guest speakers from government, research, and non-profit organisations help bring the subject to life. Graduates go into careers in planning, environmental management, logistics, policy and more. You’ll graduate with real-world experience, practical skills, and the confidence to aim for a more sustainable future. We sometimes make changes to our courses to improve your experience. If this happens, we’ll let you know as soon as possible. The BA and BSc Geography degrees have exactly the same specification.
