About this programme

Computer Science gives you the tools to tackle real-world challenges in almost any industry, from finance and healthcare to manufacturing and entertainment. Develop your skills with support from the experts at Royal Holloway. Computer Science is critical to almost every new product or innovation. It's a field that's rapidly evolving. Our curriculum covers all the essentials of computing and application development, and reflects latest trends and technologies. You’ll study advanced topics from machine learning and intelligent agents to quantum computing and digital forensics. Develop full software systems in teams using Scrum-based Agile software development. The modular structure of the MSci means you can tailor your course to match your interests through flexible choices. Specialise in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity or Software Engineering pathways at the end of year 1. Or benefit from our close links with leading technology companies and spend an optional year in industry. Working on projects will develop your transferable skills like problem-solving, teamwork and communication. Demonstrate originality in your final year individual project in any area that excites you, putting into practice the techniques taught throughout your degree. You’ll be well prepared for postgraduate study or a high-level technical career. Previous graduates have gone on to work at large companies such as Microsoft, P&G and IBM. We sometimes make changes to our courses to improve your experience. If this happens, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
