About this programme
Explore the forces impacting our world. BA Geography, Geopolitics and Global Affairs helps you explore today’s biggest issues, from conflict and climate change to inequality and global politics. What shapes the decisions that affect countries, communities, and the planet? Explore the link between politics, environments, and societies. You’ll study international power struggles, global development, and environmental change. In years 1 and 2 you’ll bring that learning to life with fieldwork. In your final year you can complete an independent research project or placement-based dissertation with organisations like the Royal Geographical Society or the Museum of London. Learn from researchers and real-world experts. Guest speakers include charity workers and government advisers. You’ll develop practical skills through assessments like writing policy briefs and evaluating development reports. You’ll be taught by researchers tackling real-world issues like maritime law, supply chains and workers’ rights. Graduates go on to roles in government, research, urban planning, civil service and corporate responsibility. We sometimes make changes to our courses to improve your experience. If this happens, we’ll let you know as soon as possible. In this module you will develop an understanding of the factors that control the physical, biological and chemical forces which shape the Earth’s surface. You will look at oceanic and atmospheric processes, plate tectonics, hydrology and coastal processes, glaciation, and arid environments.
