About this programme
Why do people offend? How do victims experience harm? How can psychology help us understand crime, vulnerability, rehabilitation and justice? Our BSc Criminology with Psychology brings together two complementary subjects, helping you explore criminal behaviour, victimisation and social responses to crime through both psychological and criminological perspectives. Examine why people offend, how victims experience harm, and how psychological and criminological theories can help us understand risk, vulnerability, rehabilitation and justice. This course brings together two complementary subjects. Criminology helps you understand crime, harm and the criminal justice system, while psychology allows you to explore behaviour, decision-making, trauma, development and individual experience. Together, they provide a powerful way of making sense of offending, victimisation and responses to crime. Work with police forces, visit a crime scene and work on real cases to put your learning to the test outside of the classroom. We work with police forces, private companies and experts in the field to bring you the latest developments in digital forensics. Learn from experts in both criminal justice and psychology to develop a deep understanding. Year one provides a comprehensive introduction to criminal justice, exploring areas including the criminal justice system and becoming a criminologist. The final module of the year introduces you to critical perspectives in psychology. Explore the legal system in England and Wales, covering criminal law, court procedures, criminal justice and
